The UNIMA World Puppetry festival was on at 27th May – 3rd June, and presented 60 different theatre companies from all over the world. Two productions by Nordland Visual theatre participated in the festival. These were Hunger and Baby Universe. Baby Universe was produced in 2010 in Stamsund, by Wakka Wakka (US) and Nordland Visual Theatre.

UNIMA (Union Internationale de la Marionnette - International Puppetry Association) is a Non-Governmental organization affiliated with UNESCO, which was founded in 1929 in Prague-Czech Republic. In the same year, they had a meeting in Paris. So far, it has 75 member countries. It’s headquarter is located in Charleville-Mézières, France.
The UNIMA Congress is held once every four years in the form of a World Puppetry Festival. Up to now, they have been successfully held for 20 times in many countries, such as Washington DC (USA), Munich (Germany), Moscow (Former Soviet Union), Tokyo and Osaka (Japan), Charleville-Mézières (France), Ljubljana (Slovenia), Budapest (Hungary), Magdeburg (Germany), Rijeka (Croatia), Perth (Australia), and so on. In 2012, the 21st UNIMA Congress and World Puppetry Festival were held in Chengdu, China.
